Boosting Connectivity Across Rajasthan
The state government has given the green light to 77 significant road construction and upgradation projects under the 2026-27 state budget. The projects, cumulatively worth ₹676.74 crore, aim to drastically improve both rural connectivity and urban transit efficiency across more than 33 districts.
Key Highlights of the Infrastructure Push
- Rural Connectivity: A major portion of the budget is allocated to connecting remote villages with state highways and major district roads, facilitating easier transport for agricultural produce.
- Urban Upgrades: Several congested urban corridors will see widening projects and the construction of bypasses to ease traffic flow.
- Tendering Process: The Public Works Department (PWD) has already initiated the e-tendering process through the state procurement portal.
These projects are expected to generate significant local employment during the construction phase and provide long-term economic benefits to the connected regions.
