Updates for e-Mitra Kiosk Operators
The Department of Information Technology and Communication (DoIT&C) has revised the commission structure for e-Mitra kiosk operators in 2026. This revision aims to incentivize operators while keeping service charges nominal for citizens.
Revised Commission Highlights
- Utility Bill Payments: Commission for electricity and water bill payments has seen a marginal increase to support rural kiosks.
- Certificate Printing: Standardized charges for printing digital certificates (caste, domicile, income) on pre-printed stationery.
- New Services: Integration of more central government schemes and private banking correspondent services into the e-Mitra ecosystem.
Guidelines for Operators
Kiosk owners must display the new rate chart prominently at their centers. Overcharging citizens is a serious offense that can lead to immediate cancellation of the e-Mitra license and blacklisting of the operator ID.
